Queer Contexts 2026

We're counting down to Queer Contexts 2026, AQuRN’s second biennial conference, taking place 7–8 December at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Bringing together researchers, artists, activists and practitioners from across disciplines and beyond the academy, Queer Contexts is a space to share ideas, challenge assumptions, build connections and imagine queer futures together. Alongside two days of presentations, conversations and creative exchange, we're looking forward to a film screening and panel discussion on Sunday 6 December, a queer party and performances on Monday 7 December, and a seminar on academic publishing at the close the conference on Tuesday evening.

Registration is open here now. Whether you're presenting or joining the conversation, we'd love to see you in Auckland this December.
